finding the right cell phone case for your cell phone

Category: TechnologyMoguls @ 11:19 pm

Although cell phones have made large technological advancements in recent years, they still lack sturdy hardware that prevents them from getting damaged with frequent use. By purchasing the right cell phone case for your phone, you can protect your device from having both internal and external damage for many years to come.

Choose the Right Size

Each cell phone is made differently, even the latest iPhone 5 model is smaller than its predecessor, the 4s. Properly measure the dimensions of your cell phone or look them up to find cases that properly fit your device comfortably. If it’s not fitted properly, it will have more of a chance to fall out and crack.

Read Reviews

Just because a cell phone case looks good or has a trendy design on it does not mean it will actually work to protect your phone from damage. Many cell phone cases easily crack or break when dropping, making them a useless piece of eye candy for most people. Do your research online and find something that is sturdy or solid, even if it means sacrificing what it looks like. Brands like Otterbox are known to be made with the highest quality of products to ensure durability. Find high quality cell phone cases and reviews on wirelessemporium.

Consider the Factors

There are many cases that are sturdy without feeling bulky or heavy. An important factor you may want to consider is if you want the cell phone to still slip into your pocket with the case on it. You may even want a case that doesn’t cost more than $5. Take into consideration all of your preferences, and if you’ll need to sacrifice any of them to find what you’re looking for.

Visit Your Cell Phone Provider

Many providers like Verizon or AT&T cell the latest cell phone cases on the market right in their stores. You can find the largest selection and even score some good deals by visiting your provider and discussing your options with a specialist. By purchasing the item in person, you can easily make sure that the case comfortably fits your phone and won’t move around or fall out. You can also test out how it feels in your hands and if it’s the right fit.

If you’re still uncertain about the cases you come across, your provider oftentimes can let you know when new cases are expected to be released for your specific model.

By making a small investment into the right case for your cell phone, you’ll be able to preserve the quality of your phone and extend its functionality.

How Social Media Got Its Start

Category: Social Media,TechnologyMoguls @ 10:53 pm

You can’t go a day without hearing, “Like us on Facebook” or “Join us on Twitter”. Social media is as common in today’s society as forks at the dinner table. Most of the major social networking services have had app developers create a smartphone app for their services. Virtually everyone is tweeting and poking everywhere but how did the great thing we call social media get started?
Way back in the late 80′s early 90′s, there was this little thing called BBS (Bulletin Board System). Most BBS programs were developed by very smart people who loved computers. They started the programs as a hobby. The BBS systems were chock full of codes that let users communicate with a central system. Users could download games, files and even post messages to each other. It took a while but the files eventually downloaded.

AOL can be named as a very influential starter of the social media frenzy. AOL allowed members to build communities in which personal profiles were created. You could search out people with common interest and chat (remember those prehistoric chat rooms?). These chat rooms got the average Joe yearning to learn more about how to get online and soon home computers were being bought by the masses.

By the mid 1990′s the true internet was born. One of the first friend connection sites was Classmates.com. The site didn’t allow user profiles but you could track down friends from the past and reconnect. The site was a huge success and others followed in their footsteps. Computer programmers realized that people want to connect with long lost friends and family members.

By 2002 social networking really went full force with sites like Friendster. 2003 brought about Linkedin. This site isn’t known so much for rekindling friendships as it is for networking in the business world. Business professionals used this site to find jobs.
The 1st true social media site was launched in 2003. MySpace’s sole purpose was to bring people together. This site was unique by members being able to display many aspects of their lives. Uploading personal photos, streaming their favorite songs and posting videos of themselves were what the masses begged for.

Facebook came on the scene in 2004 but wasn’t opened to the general public until 2006. Facebook has set the bar for social media sites. Now people can find friends, products, celebrities and companies they “Like”. Never before have we, as a human race, been so connected. And it all started with a little BBS.

Technology Used by Health Professionals Every Day

Category: Healthcare,TechnologyMoguls @ 10:49 pm

The use of technology in health care has been growing by the day. This has created a totally new culture in the health care industry. Instead of holding physical meetings, people mail each other, send texts instead of talking face-to-face and chat online instead discussing matters arising in person. This is the impact that the internet and computers has had in the health industry.

The health industry greatly depends on the use of technology on a daily basis. Activities such as patient assessment, rehabilitation, diagnosis and treatments are all done using technology on a daily basis. With the growing technology, medical records are now digitized and electronic documentation has changed the manner in which patients charts are filled. Today, computers have become completely indispensable with healthcare IT companies. If such equipment is eliminated, the total operations of the company could easily be crippled.

The two sides of technology in healthcare

The complication with computers in the healthcare industry is that there availability makes them easily substitutable for physical patient care. Doctors use their mobile phones and choose to stay home during their off work time instead of meeting with nurses to find out the progress of their patients. However, this is not the trend with all the doctors. Usually, the doctors provide treatment to patients based on the laboratory results instead of doing physical assessments of the patients. Technology in healthcare has robbed patients from the one-to-one attention they should get from the doctors.

The computerized hospital systems are fitted with intelligent software that sends out automated alerts to nurses of any errors in dosages and medication. Sadly, statistics have proved that majority of the nurses do not pay any special attention to these alerts due to the fear of preconception. This proves that the safety of patients is not given by technology, but, rather by those responsible for the provision of the treatment.

Technology has definitely provided convenience and ease in preventing medical errors which are on the rise today. Without proper action and intervention of the health professionals, such comfort will end up being rendered useless and a waste of resources.

Technology in healthcare is a wonderful development. It is important for every growing society to embrace the role that technology is playing in making things easier. Healthcare professionals should ensure that they also give their clients personalized attention irrespective of the presence of technology.

Benefits of Improved Technology

Category: TechnologyMoguls @ 10:52 am

Technology has given us a new leg up on life. The last few years has seen the introduction of cell phones that offer advice, mapping systems that track your movements and lead you to your destination, music on demand through headsets and voice command on cars and other devices.

There are several benefits to technology in all areas of life.As a student the addition of technology in the classroom gives them access to mass amounts of knowledge allowing them to learn faster and get a more in depth meaning of the things they learn. Studies done by the University of Michigan show that students who were given the opportunity to use a computer as opposed to pencil and paper learned at a 30 % higher rate. It also gives students the ability to work more independently.
Using technology engages the mind of a student creating an atmosphere that promotes them to want to learn and they enjoy learning. Technology also strengthens teaching, giving teachers an aid that they never had before to help in the learning process.

In business, it has increased the economic competitiveness opening up all businesses to the world at large. All businesses have the opportunity to become globally known increasing the chances for growth exponentially. Lots of businesses have turned over their companies and started to use automated computer systems for inventory, booking, and even accounting. Most of the manual labor jobs that existed prior to 1965 have now turned into jobs that are done by robots and computer programs. Annual reports are done through software, as well as the amount of time needed to transport paperwork internally from one company to another is now done instantly, almost eliminating the need for postal services. There are even virtual offices excluding the need for excess travel to do business abroad and nationwide.

In our personal lives the world is now much smaller, we can communicate with people from the other side of the world with a click of a mouse, or see them in real time with webcams. For example, instead of running around to get surveys from people, you can use a service like Tatango to get people to fill out polls through SMS message on their phone. The world is now able to share it’s cultures, ideas and needs to anyone who is plugged in to see or hear.

As the world continues to make advances in technology, lives are being altered. The way you do business, see the world, learn, live and socialize is forever changing. It’s up to each individual to keep up with the changes as they occur, as it effects us all.

The Importance of Software Testing

Category: TechnologyMoguls @ 10:02 pm

Developments in technology and the rapid adaptation of technology by the public has led to a boom in software development and release. There are software programs out for any imaginable purpose with more and more companies making their name on quality software releases. The key to developing a good piece of software that will find success with the market it’s catered to is software testing. The importance of software testing cannot be overstated. It is perhaps the most important aspect of developing a program that will suit the consumer and a software company striving to make a well-performing product will spend ample resources on the testing phase.

The purpose of software testing is to catch any errors, annoyances or areas that need improvement before the user does. Software testing tools will automatically go through a series of checks, experiments and extensive use procedures with the program over a long period of time all aiming to find any error no matter how small. Those errors are recorded in detail and explored further to make sure even deeper problems don’t exist, then the program is changed to fix the problems and re-tested again until no more issues are found. Every aspect of the software from the interface to the most complex items are thoroughly investigated.

This complex method of software testing may seem like overkill but it is actually extremely important for the developer. A major software bug only found after the release can destroy consumer confidence in the developer. And the time and cost of fixing the error and releasing an updated program version can be massive. Plus by catching errors during the testing phase it ensures that future software that builds on the code of the original program does not make the same mistakes. It gives the developer piece of mind knowing their software meets the goals of usability and reliability that all consumer programs must have.

Deaths of Technology Moguls

Category: TechnologyMoguls @ 12:59 pm

People today enjoy many technologies that make their lives easier, but most unknowingly are aware of who is responsible for theses modern conveniences. When there are deaths of technology moguls, awareness of these technologies are publicly brought to life. Such has been the case with the most moving and widely broadcasted death of one of today’s leading pioneers in technological progress, Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs.

Jobs, who died on the 5th of October 2011, due to pancreatic cancer, was the pioneering mastermind behind many of the Apple’s amazing products in use today. He was considered one of the finest technological moguls of our age, helping to usher in a pioneering approach to technological marketing and design which has emphasized functionality and aesthetics. This approach has put his inventions at the forefront of what makes technology great.

Steve was born of Syrian and German parents but later was given off for adoption while still an infant. During the 1980’s technology boom he carved out a career for himself by developing and perfecting a variety of different innovative technological advancements. Some of these caused him to be touted a genius in the field by his peers, even going so far as giving him the honor of being one of the few ‘founders’ of the desktop publishing revolution.

Jobs the tech mogul was to later save Apple from near bankruptcy, reviving it to the technological tour-de-force that it is today. Known for being a perfectionist and a stickler for details, Steve Jobs was also a charitable person. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which he struggled privately to overcome for quite some time with the use of natural and homeopathic therapies. He finally made his condition publically known his final days before his death on the 5th of October.

Jobs died in his California home reportedly around 3 p.m, a day after he had lost consciousness, from respiratory arrest. His death caused what can be considered world-wide mourning. Many people honored him and showed their respect by leaving hundreds of iPhones, iPads, flowers and notes outside of the Palo Alto Apple Store in California.

The Apple Corporation lost a master innovator and visionary with the passing of Steve Jobs, although his legacy still lives on in the products that run the world today. It seems to be in the human nature to appreciate things and people more when they pass, then when they are present in our lives. Such seems to be the case with the deaths of technology moguls like Steve Jobs.

How To Have An Office Anywhere

Category: Office,TechnologyMoguls @ 9:48 pm

In today’s economy more and more people are turning to the internet for job security. Internet jobs are more common than ever and it’s easy to have your office anywhere. Virtual assistants are often sought out by smaller companies to save on overhead and many prefer to telecommute over driving and spending time and money on gas. How does one accomplish such feats? By following these easy tips.

Computer Access:

To have an office anywhere one will need to have access to a computer. Most people choose a laptop with plenty of memory and set it up for their virtual office. This sort of set up works well for a person that wants to stop in to the office for a bit and then go on the road, or for anyone who prefers to work at the local park or coffee shop over working in a set office on a daily basis. Sending and receiving files via computer makes working anywhere a breeze.

Cell Phone:

Having a cell phone in today’s economy is a must for the virtual assistant or for the person who wishes to work from anywhere but an office. Many writers, virtual assistants and others choose to work from a wide variety of places over being in an office. A cell phone helps them to stay in touch with clients and can also work to remind them of appointments and events taking place.

Internet:

With the internet so easily accessible there is no reason that anyone should have to ever leave home for employment if they don’t want to. Many choose to set up an office on the road and work via the internet using lap tops, cell phones over working in an office building where there are set rules and regulations that one must follow to the set specifications.

Combing the use of lap tops, cell phones and the internet makes it easy to have an office anywhere one wishes to have one. This is a great way for parents to work when they have young children at home, when someone has a disability or if one is simply tired of the daily commute and the hustle and bustle of the big city. Many great and talented people have left their corporate jobs to seek out their dreams while still making money utilizing these techniques. To find jobs like this one could start by asking their current employer, checking with employment agencies or creating ones own dream job. The sky is the limit here and people are only as limited as their dreams.
